Defining Colors

The color settings of graph elements in different views can be defined by the user in Soley. This allows for example to define the fill and outline color of nodes, the color of edges but also the color of Table rows or Matrix cells. All color settings in Soley software can be made either

  1. by using the color picker in the view properties section of the Properties pad for selected elements or data series

  2. or by defining colors as string-type values in view templates or as data properties that can then be referenced. As string-type color notation two different options are possible:
    • Defining colors by name (works for basic colors like red, black, blue, gray, …) or by hexadecimal value (e.g. #15A1DB). For example, an attribute color can be defined with a default value in a metamodel file (left) or in rule:

Defining color by creating a string-type property named color for a class in a metamodel file using color name notation

Defining colors: Setting a string-type property named color in a rule using hexadecimal color notation

    • This property value can then be used to define any color property, e.g. FillColor set in reference to the property color.

Below are some standard color values. You can copy&paste the hexadecimal values from the table.
